I introduce you an artist that has done some Norse mythology an Art.

In Germany for the first time an exposure of Nikolaj Abraham Abildgaard [1743-1809].

Professor at the Art Academy in Copenhagen and he was an academic painter of the Neo-classicism school and Denmark’s first important history painter.

He influence on many of his students as Caspar David Friederich and Philipp Otto Runge.

Abildgaard was interested of the Ossian’s poems, Norse mythology, which placed him at the forefront of Nordic romanticism, literary allusion and from the classicism as many other artists of 1800.

The exposition reveals the complexity of Abildgaard’s paintings and its sketches.
